Steve Kmiec earned two Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Criminology at North Carolina State University and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology at East Carolina University. Steve currently works full-time as a Licensed Psychological Associate at Family Works Psychological Center. His past clinical experience includes working with Maury Correctional Institution providing therapeutic treatment to the residents, working closely with the Forensic Psychologist at the Raleigh Police Department providing training and education relating to mental health. He currently provides mental health assessments and treatment for students at Goldsboro High School through the WISH Clinic. As a member of the Family Works team, Steve provides psychological testing, marriage and family therapy, and individual therapy for both adolescents and adults. His areas of interest include utilization of cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness and acceptance based approaches in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.
